Ladies and gents, killers and evil demons, I'm happy to announce that
Scream Bloody Entertainment (that's this site, by the way) has just got itself the first award evar! Good times, good times. I believe this is the very first step towards my master plan of world domination, so bear with me!
I would like to thank
Jinx Minsky over at
Totally Jinxed for giving me this fine award. It brings tears to my eyes to see that other bloggers appreciate my work. Umm... evil tears. Malefic tears! I'm also holding an axe right now. With blood on it! There, that's better.
Now, let's get to the award, shall we? This so-called
Happy 101 Award requires me to list 10 things that bring me joy and then pass it over to 10 blogs that make me happy (it's gonna be tough to narrow it down to only ten, but hey, rules are rules). And without further ado, let us begin!
- Ten things that bring me joy
1. Freedom
Everyone loves free time, obviously, but to me there's nothing more rewarding than having some time to do anything I like. Don't get me wrong, I love having something to do and often can't go on for too long without having a purpose or something like that, but after all is done and accounted for I feel most satisfied with the time that I can use for whatever I want. It's not even what I'm doing with it, I just love knowing that I can spend it in any way I like.
2. Staring at the Moon on cool summer nights
Nothing ever comes close to the feeling that I get from watching the sky filled with stars during summer nights. There's just something about it that I don't quite understand, but looking at something so far away from home always leaves me with a feeling of comfort and euphoria. I just love it.
3. Watching stereotypical teenagers get killed in slasher movies
We all know those teenage characters played in the worst way possible by naive young actors that fill up the screen for the first 30 minutes of every slasher with pathetic wanna-be character development and drama. Sarah slept with Jake? No way! Mike is gonna be so mad! COOL STORY BRO, except that no one cares. Bah. The top of the cake are the cheerleaders that treat everyone like crap. Makes what's coming for them all the more satisfying.
4. My awesome drum kit
It all began with guitar, though surprisingly I later found out that drums fit me much better. Now I'm the proud owner of one badass drumset complete with shiny Zildjian and Paiste cymbals, two punchy 22" bass drums and TAMA Iron Cobra pedals that kick faster than your actual feet. You kinda stop caring about the neighbors once you are in the presence of this majestic kit. I love it.
5. Talking about movies
Whether it's me or someone else doing it, it simply brings me joy to discuss films and everything related. From making fun of Hollywood remakes to insulting actors that are horrible at their jobs, it's all for the good cause. And once it's all over, I feel the need to quickly watch movie. Doesn't even matter what that movie is. And that, my friends, is the power of criticism.
6. Burgers and Pizza
When hunger kicks in, I'm well known for doing anything to survive. In this case, that means picking up the phone and ordering some pizza! Oh, the smell of it when it arrives drives me crazy. I never really remember what happens from the time when I pick it up to when it's on the table and I'm prepared to devour it. I guess my brain shuts down and the only thing that matters is getting ready to stuff it all in. Then there's burgers. Doesn't matter if it's from some fast food restaurant such as McDonald's or Burger King or from anywhere else, I find myself not being able to deny its temptation. Kinda like porn, but with less sauce.
7. Watching anything involving Al Pacino
There's no denying that Pacino is one goddamn gifted actor, but to me it's more than that. The way he talks brings me joy and I often find myself imitating his actions and talking with that accent. Every scene he's in makes it all the more enjoyable and his famous monologues are priceless. I'm out of order? You're out of order! This whole trial is out of order!
8. Alone time
We all enjoy hanging out with our mates, but I find great value in the time I share only with myself. Being in the company of others is where the memorable moments of our lives come from, but I often find myself longing for some time alone, because that is when I have time to go through my thoughts and go over certain things.
9. Metallica during the late 80s and early 90sCliff Burton was a terrible loss and a big chunk of Metallica's creativity got lost when he died, but it was the following years that were the most fun for our hard rocking friends. No matter what others may think,
...And Justice for All represents their greatest work to me and their rise to mainstream with
The Black Album made the concerts all the spectacular and powerful.
Live Shit: Binge & Purge brings me back to their good ol' days.
10. Expressing myself
It may be through writing, it may be through talking and it may be through thinking. The truth is that I love to share my opinion and even though I don't really care what others think of it or if anyone disagrees, I just feel the need to put it out that and make it known. That's why I love writing for my blog and that's why it's so much fun to read other blogs and whatnot. Nothing beats that, to be quite honest.
